1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Roadmap Technologies (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with your use of the StoreCast Shopify application (“App”). We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users (“you,” “merchant”). Our fundamental privacy principle is that Roadmap Technologies does not collect, store, view, access, or retain any of your Shopify store data (including orders, products, or customer information) or any personally identifiable information (PII) belonging to you or your customers through the normal operation of the StoreCast App. The App functions by processing data transiently based on your direct actions within the App interface.

2. Information We Do Not Collect or Access

The StoreCast App is designed to operate without collecting or storing sensitive business data or customer personal data. Specifically, Roadmap Technologies does not access, collect, download, or store any raw or processed data from your Shopify store, including details about orders, products, variants, inventory, or financial performance, beyond the temporary processing required to fulfill requests within an active App session. Furthermore, we do not access, collect, view, or store any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) about your customers or about you as the merchant, apart from basic Shopify identifiers necessary for authentication. Roadmap Technologies also does not track specific user interactions within the Shopify store outside the direct use of App features during an active session.

3. How the App Uses Information (Transient Processing)

The StoreCast App interacts with Shopify store data based solely on permissions granted by the merchant upon installation and specific queries initiated within the App. When a feature requiring data access is used, the App sends an on-demand request via Shopify’s secure API to read the necessary data at that moment. This retrieved data is then processed transiently, typically in memory, for the exclusive purpose of performing the calculations requested by the merchant, such as aggregating sales figures, applying specified filters like USD currency focus, or generating forecasts. The resulting aggregated information is displayed directly back to the merchant within the App interface in their Shopify Admin. Following the display or the conclusion of the session, the underlying raw data read from the store is discarded. Roadmap Technologies does not retain this data in any form. Data exported via the CSV function is saved directly to the merchant’s local device, under their exclusive control. Roadmap Technologies does not utilize any data accessed transiently for its own analytics, advertising, product improvement, or any purpose other than providing the App’s intended functionality back to the merchant during their active session.

4. Data Sharing

In accordance with our policy of not collecting or storing merchant data, Roadmap Technologies does not share any data accessed or processed by the StoreCast App with any third parties. Data transmission is limited to communications between Shopify’s API and the App functioning within the merchant’s Shopify Admin, the display of results back to the authenticated merchant, and any data export initiated by the merchant to their own device.

5. Data Security

While we do not store your Shopify data, we take reasonable measures to protect the App itself. Access to your Shopify store data by the App is governed by Shopify’s secure API and authentication mechanisms, based on the permissions you grant. We rely on Shopify’s platform security for the underlying data protection. We implement standard security practices concerning our own application code and infrastructure to prevent unauthorized access to the App’s functionality.

6. Data Retention

Roadmap Technologies does not retain any raw or aggregated data from your Shopify store. All processing performed by the StoreCast App is transient and occurs only during your active use of a feature. There is no database or storage mechanism within our control where your store data or your customers’ PII is saved.

7. User Rights (Data Management)

Because Roadmap Technologies does not collect or store your personal data or your store’s data, requests to access, correct, amend, or delete data held by us are generally not applicable, as we hold no such data. Management of your Shopify store data and your customers’ personal data should be done directly within your Shopify Admin interface according to Shopify’s policies and applicable data protection laws (like GDPR, CCPA).

8. Third-Party Services (Shopify)

The StoreCast App operates within the Shopify platform. Your use of Shopify is subject to Shopify’s own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Roadmap Technologies is not responsible for Shopify’s data handling practices.

9. Children’s Privacy

The StoreCast App is intended for use by Shopify merchants and is not directed towards children under the age of 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly interact with or collect information from children.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about our practices. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
